What I've Been Listening To: March 2026

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque! As always - March was a super interesting month - and I've been listening to a whole bunch of amazing stuff - ranging from sweet, late 90s French house cuts, to quirky future funk, glamorous nu disco and a whole bunch of blog-era bangers - and as usual, today's post is about spotlighting some of the things that have been stuck in my head in March - so without further ado, let's get started! (P.S - I am super, super sorry to anyone that stumbled upon the April Fools joke earlier today - if you missed it, check on The Internet Archive for something a little bit stupid!) Ian Pooley - Since Then (2000) Released through London based label V2 in September 2000 - Ian Pooley's third major record Since Then - a deep, soulful album that beautifully mixes the filtery French sound with buckets of Brazilian influence and live instrumentation - has been constantly on rotation over the last month for many, many reasons. After listening t...

Drops and news from the last two weeks of March!

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque! We're now heading towards the end of March - and as I always say - over the last two weeks, there's been so, so many monumental drops from a multitude of amazing people - alongside a whole bunch of sweet news. In this post - there's several returning talents, many underrated cuts and a few new people for you to check out - so without further ado, let's get started! Together - Together (Lamorn Remix) To kick-start this post off - I wanted to shine a huge light on one of the most impressive remixes I've likely ever listened to. Released independently on various platforms on March 15th - the brand new remix of Thomas Bangalter and DJ Falcon's legendary French touch anthem Together - done expertly by Arizona based producer and multi-instrumentalist Lamorn - is genuinely stunning, and at points, extremely beautiful.  While the original track, released twenty-six years ago, is a warm, catchy classic that echoes in the mi...

Interview: Ghosts of Venice

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque! It's been a hot minute since there was an interview on the blog - and to make up for that, tonight we have somebody extremely special in the virtual hot seat - the incredible Ghosts of Venice. Known for his illustrious career spanning over a decade and a half - he's released on some of house music's biggest labels, produced some of the hottest tracks and remixes around, has over a billion streams under his belt - and he's also a pretty cracking DJ and promoter. With all of this in mind - I knew he had to get onto the blog! So, without further ado - I'll let him do the talking! For those who don’t know – who are you, what music do you make and where are you from?  My name is Lee Dunn, and I’ve gone by many monikers over the years, but most people know me as Ghosts of Venice. These days I mostly make Disco, and I’m from North Yorkshire, England. If you had to describe your sound to someone who’s never listened to your mu...

Drops and news from the first two weeks of March!

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque! We're now halfway through March (spring is finally arriving, yay!) - and over the last two weeks - there has been so, so many amazing released and a bunch of dope news. In this post - there are several people who regular readers will know - and also a bunch of new talents that are making their debut on the blog. Get the popcorn. This is going to be an extra special post! Let's get started! Discoholic (feat. Vampire Loves Sunny) - Sparkle On! One of my favourite releases to come out so far this year - the brand new single from Washington D.C based DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Discoholic is absolutely incredible - and it brings me so, so much joy. As always, the production on this single is absolutely phenomenal - it's effortlessly clean, sparkly (see what I did there?) and extremely bright and fun. As per usual, the instrumentation is gorgeous, rich and glittery - making it a perfect track to spin at parties, or just ...

Drops and news from the last two weeks of February!

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque! We're now about to enter March - and since my time away from the blog - there's been loads of amazing new releases from tons of amazing people. We have some epic returns, dope new cuts, some incredible announcements / news and to sum it up - these last two weeks have been some of the best since ATD began - so be sure to buckle your seat belts - this is gonna be a dope one! Let's get started! Lady Stark - Sugar Girl Released everywhere last Friday - Sugar Girl is the incredible new single from Argentina based producer Lady Stark, which oozes with a ridiculous amount of quality. It's an insanely bright, deeply melodic crossover between the sweet sounds of future funk and filter house which is incredibly tight, impactful and so, so much fun - sampling Calloway damn near perfectly. To me, Sugar Girl feels like a very healthy blend between the filtery sounds of various Parisian house acts, and the styles of ID Chief and Cape Co...

What I've Been Listening To: February 2026

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque! We've reached the end of another month (jeez, time is going by too quickly for my liking...) - and it's time for another lowdown of the stuff I've been listening to over the last four weeks. While last month was a healthy mix of future funk, French house and electro - this month was a little different, as I leaned heavily on the late 90s filter house sound (with a few odd blog-era bits thrown in there for good measure!) Let's get started! Superfunk - Hold Up (2000) To start this post off strong - I wanted to talk about the debut album from legendary French trio Superfunk. Released through Fiat Lux and Virgin at the peak of French touch's first wave - this is an extremely solid LP full of thumping, high quality, filter disco club jams, a strong cut n' paste aesthetic throughout, loads of fat beats and buckets of hip hop influence littered everywhere. I recently found this album at a local record store - so I bought ...
