Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque!
Autumn is now upon us, and it's been an incredibly dope week for French house, future funk and disco - there's been lots of great new releases and fun things this week from a multitude of talents - and I can't wait to cover them in today's post.
Without further ado, let's get started!
blip_ - Feels Good
Released through emerging collective Nuixante on September 5th, Australian producer blip_'s new single "Feel Good" is a thumping future funk track laced with his signature production style, some great sampling techniques and punchy production - making it a future classic in the genre. It's dark, bad ass yet extremely energetic. This is one you definitely can't miss.
You can find it on all good streaming services now - but I'll link the Bandcamp here.

SHPESHFTR - SWISS ARMY KNIFE
Released independently on September 3rd, Ontario based electro / bloghouse producer SHPESHTR returned in style with his new single Swiss Army Knife. A pounding, rough and fantastically produced track - Swiss Army Knife is a real standout in the bloghouse revival scene occurring at the moment. It's brash, funky and stuffed to the brim with fantastic synth work and sampling techniques. A criminally underrated release from what could be a future blog house stalwart, and one of my favourite tracks of the year. Don't miss it.
You can find it on Bandcamp and SoundCloud.

Partyshank - Penis vs. Vagina (Broken Embraces Edit)
Building onto the topic of the current bloghouse / electro revival currently happening, on September 2nd Uruguayan's very own Broken Embraces released an absolutely killer edit of Partyshank's Penis vs. Vagina. With this remix, the original track - an extremely underground release buried in the depths of 2007 MySpace electro - is turned into an extremely heavy, angry yet energetic banger, built for destroying clubs as we go into the colder months. Side note to DJs: You really should stick this in your crate. Trust me.
You can find it on his SoundCloud.

Exciting new things from Montaime this Bandcamp Friday!
Let's take a break from all of the great bloghouse stuff from this week and head over to the disco side - this Bandcamp Friday sure was exciting for Montaime, the disco / French house / future funk label ran by American-Romanian producer FIBRE - with there being several new and awesome re-releases and physicals.
Discoholic's Discoholics Anonymous now on CD!
To celebrate the third anniversary of Discoholic's classic sophomore album Discoholics Anonymous, Montaime released a CD version - complete with tons of remixes (mostly from the Remixholics Anonymous LP, also released through Montaime in 2023) and several bonus tracks. While initially available on Bandcamp Friday for $10, you can now buy the CDs for $15 a pop. If you ask me, that's a steal!
Mere Notilde's Now That I Have You is available on vinyl again!
Initially released through Montaime in 2021 - Boston based producer Mere Notilde's fourth album - a coveted classic in the future funk scene, is officially back on vinyl in a very nice rose gold. It's got a full colour obi-strip, a bonus track on the B-side, it looks fantastic, and above all - it's a great chance to pick up a great album on wax. You can buy fresh copies for $26 dollars now, or get B-grade copies for just $15. Hell yeah.
You can now grab FIBRE and Aritus' Virtues Deluxe on limited edition CD (and some extras!)
Released initially through Neoncity Records at the end of March 2025 - Virtues Deluxe, now a modern classic in the future funk scene is now available on CD in a limited run of 150. Signed by FIBRE himself, these CDs were initially exclusive through his shows this year - however have now been made available. Grab them for $15 now - you won't be disappointed. (PS, that artwork on the cover and the disc looks killer!)
Furthermore, you can now also grab these awesome new Virtues Deluxe t-shirts directly from the Montaime Bandcamp - they're in a limited run of 100. Grab these awesome t-shirts quick - they're currently $27.
Building onto Virtues - there's a remix competition happening!
Announced on FIBRE's Discord server - there's now a remix competition happening for Virtues - the deadline is September 25th - and the prizes are huge. Free merchandise, access to unreleased content and the chance to get your remix officially released - for any producers looking to gain some promotion or experience - this is a perfect opportunity to do so. I've already been made aware by some that there will be some dope producers competing - so keep your eyes peeled for this!
Check out my debut future funk / French house album!
Released on September 2nd independently - you can now check out by debut album under the alias dreamer eighty seven - '87. It's ten tracks of French house and future funk - expect thumping beats, lots and lots of samples - and in general, a lot of fun. I'm super proud of it, and the nine months I spent working on it were some of the most fun times I've ever had producing.
Thanks to everyone who made it possible. You can find it on YouTube and Bandcamp now (it's pay what you want - so you can download it for free!)
Akoo - Afterglow
Released independently on September 2nd, French future funk producer Akoo's new single Afterglow sure is a treat. It's a smooth, chilled out, summery jam which is super groovy, fun yet at the same time, very relaxing - with some great sample flipping (I instantly recognized the drums from Intro by Alan Braxe and Fred Falke in this!) and fantastic production - which, let's be honest, is typical of Akoo.
You can find this excellent new single on his SoundCloud.
glue70 - Waiting For You
Released on September 5th, Manchester based producer glue70's new single is absolutely brilliant. It's a smooth, fun, upbeat and funky nu disco jam with some excellent instrumentation (the bassline is absolutely killer, and the chords are beautiful!) and some awesome vocal work from the man himself. In short, this is a fantastic nu disco jam, and even though it sure isn't summer, this is definitely one to brighten up those rainy and cold days ahead.
You can find this new single on all good streaming services now - but I'll link the SoundCloud so you can download directly!
Miss Phantom - Are We Being Fooled
Released on September 2nd - Are We Being Fooled is the new single from Miss Phantom - the legendary underground duo consisting of Opierm and Sboulouf Le Detective - formed as a tribute to legendary producer The Phantom's Revenge. Are We Being Fooled is a rework of "Mental Geller" - initially released by TPR in December 2015 - and boy, does it punch. Turning the original from a raw house banger into a jumpy, heavy rework set to destroy clubs in the future. In short - this one's for the DJs, and it's not to be missed.
You can find it on their SoundCloud.
Some exciting things for Nightfall on the horizon!
Whether you've been in the future funk and French house scenes for a week, or years even - you'll know Nightfall, the Toronto based collective founded by Monamie which has been running since 2016. Alongside the collective's fantastic releases - they also do a club night, known as Dysfunktion. Last night, several DJs played the finest in French house, future funk and UKG in Las Vegas - and on September 27th, they're going to be taking these dope sounds to Toronto to do a festival on the 27th, featuring some of the finest future funk artists and DJs.
Find out more on Nightfall's Instagram!
Takanashi Sachiko - Ur Love In Ur Eyes
To end out this post, I thought I'd shine a light on the excellent new single from Ohio-based producer Takanashi Sachiko. Released on September 1st, this new track flips Geraldine Hunt's Can't Fake The Feeling into a choppy, tight future funk track which is extremely playful, fun, energetic and funky - while reminding me heavily of Lady Stark's Be Mine, or the work of The Phantom's Revenge in his early era - which, for a future funk track, is absolutely brilliant. In short, this track is awesome, and you should definitely give it a listen!
You can find it on his SoundCloud.
There you have it, everyone!
I hope you enjoyed reading today's post - be sure to follow the blog, and as always, keep enjoying your stay at the discotheque.
