Drops and news from the first two weeks of March!

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque!

We're now halfway through March (spring is finally arriving, yay!) - and over the last two weeks - there has been so, so many amazing released and a bunch of dope news. In this post - there are several people who regular readers will know - and also a bunch of new talents that are making their debut on the blog. Get the popcorn. This is going to be an extra special post!

Let's get started!

Discoholic (feat. Vampire Loves Sunny) - Sparkle On!
One of my favourite releases to come out so far this year - the brand new single from Washington D.C based DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Discoholic is absolutely incredible - and it brings me so, so much joy. As always, the production on this single is absolutely phenomenal - it's effortlessly clean, sparkly (see what I did there?) and extremely bright and fun. As per usual, the instrumentation is gorgeous, rich and glittery - making it a perfect track to spin at parties, or just on a nice day with your friends.

Furthermore - Sunny's vocal performance is genuinely amazing - it's upbeat, cheery and fits perfectly with the (already euphoric) production - giving this already fantastic single a much more glamorous and playful feel. Hats off to them both!

You can find it on all good streaming services - the Bandcamp is linked below.

Louis La Roche - I Found You
Building onto the topic of nu-disco - yesterday was an extremely exciting day for fans of Norwich's very own Louis La Roche - as he unveiled the (brilliant) first single from his upcoming album The New Now. I instantly knew that this had to go up on the next post. I Found You truly is Louis at his best - this new single is a shimmering, hopeful future classic which blends the sounds of disco and thumping house perfectly with deep, rich production, an ecstatic vocal performance delivered by the man himself and at various points, callbacks to his previous work as a French house producer in the late 2000s - with the main chorus echoing the late 90s filter house sound that everyone loves dearly. As described by Louis himself - this single is "sun-drenched, euphoric and exactly where I want to be in 2026." - and amongst all of the hate in the world currently - this serves as a small ray of light - and a poignant reminder to choose love.

To put it simply - this track is absolutely amazing.

You can grab it on all good streaming services now - but I implore you to grab it from Bandcamp.

Aritus x FIBRE - Virtues (Remixes)
Released last week (rather fittingly, on Bandcamp Friday!) - the remix album for Virtues, one of the standout records of future funk over the last year, and boy, it is genuinely wild. Featuring several well-known names (such as android52, Midnight Drift and Nightowl) - amongst many others - this record is an excellent (and diverse!) way to end out the Virtues era.

There is so much to explore in this album, and so many excellent reworks of what were already cracking classics - the opener - GA2B's electro-house infused edit of Solid State, sets this compilation off to an incredible start with its heavy, dark production, punchy beats and so much action it'd fit perfectly into a movie. Building on from that, listeners are treated to buckets of artistic brilliance - and every single remix is unique, daring and quirky in its own way - there's lighter, upbeat entries from the likes of Loser//99 and Reppop - some heavy club edits from FIBRE themselves, Beadie (who came in with a monstrous electro house edit of Odyssey!) and DJ Cockatiel - who turned Let Me Go from a dazzling nu disco jam into a pounding acid house workout that wouldn't sound too out of place as a bonus on Mr. Hoosteen's first record - and some incredibly stunning remixes from Manikin, Inner Nature and Midnight Drift.

My personal favourites from this release (and it was very hard to pick, by the way!) include Beadie's incredible remix of Odyssey, which is mind-blowing at various points - Nightowl's remix of Nuance, which sounds like something Daft Punk would have produced during their Human After All era - android52's funky edit of Forever which I can imagine various late 90s DJs spinning in basements - DJ Cockatiel's acid remix of Let Me Go - and of course, GA2B's edit of Solid State, which initially made its way onto the blog when it first dropped back in February.

To sum it up - this really is such an incredible way to close out the Virtues era. This whole record really is such a fantastic listening experience - and you can grab it now digitally through Bandcamp (or any other good streaming services) - or physically on limited edition CD, now.

Some exciting new things from Montaime this Bandcamp Friday!
Okay, I know I was late - but last week was a monumental one for FIBRE's legendary underground label Montaime, and for Bandcamp Friday - they launched a host of incredible new physical releases and merchandise - a lot of which, you can still grab now - so I thought I'd go and promote some of it!

You can now grab Mr. Hoosteen's No Time 2 Lose on limited edition CD!
Probably the main event of last week's merchandise drop - after it was announced that Mr. Hoosteen's second album was making its way onto CD - as to be expected, the French house / disco scenes respectively went wild. Several teasers were published online and through Montaime's social media pages - and oh boy, the final release did not disappoint. Housed in a jewel case with full colour artwork from the amazing Instantreigen, bonus tracks, content for Montaime's radio Rook, artwork and stickers - this truly is a fantastic celebration of this iconic and colourful record.

You can grab it through Bandcamp now - there's a special edition of 55 signed by Mr. Hoosteen - or a regular edition of 25.

You can now grab Virtues (Deluxe) on limited edition CD for the second time!
Those that were around during the initial launch of Virtues (Deluxe) last spring will know that the physical variants sold out extremely quickly - and after a fresh round of demand - this classic record is now back in stock - also housed in a very nice jewel case. Furthermore, this variant includes a reversible cover, and every copy is signed by FIBRE themselves!

Grab it now through Bandcamp.

You can now grab Mere Notilde's unreleased album on CD for the second time!
Although these were initially sold exclusively at MAGFest 2025 - after huge demand, you can now grab Mere Notilde's upcoming record on limited edition CD once again - and if the recent singles are anything to go by - this could be a future classic for sure.

By this point, you know where to grab it!

Mere Notilde - Soul Seek (feat. eik)
To close out this segment of the post - I wanted to shine a light (very fittingly) on Mere Notilde's latest single, released through Montaime on March 4th - Soul Seek. Just like Stay With Me - this track is a relentlessly upbeat, smooth yet oddly cute jam, which, although short - is incredibly sweet. If I had to describe this single - I'd consider it to be a welcome mix between the sounds of modern future funk, house and J-pop - and to me, this sounds a little bit like Moe Shop - but if they made slower stuff instead! - To add, the vocals from Japanese rap duo eik fit perfectly into this track, and they glide with ease amongst the punchy beats, odd, jittery synths and pleasant, choppy melodies - making this new single a definite recommendation from me!

You can find Soul Seek on all good streaming services - however, as per usual - I'm going to link the Bandcamp below!

Zai Kowen and Luanmer - Touch My Hands
Released independently everywhere yesterday - the brand new single from two of future funk's finest talents - Argentina's Zai Kowen and Mexico's Luanmer is a deep, beautiful and masterfully produced track which oozes with summery warmth and superb quality. Although it can be labelled as future funk - to me, there's obvious influence from nu-disco and French house, making it an extremely versatile cut. It's stuffed to the brim with elegant instrumentation - this can be noted from the killer bassline - which is almost Alan Braxe-esque in nature - the use of funky, plucky guitars and softer synthesis throughout - and above all, it's just really pleasant on the ears - therefore making this particular track a lovely one to spin when you're cruising in your car, in a chilled out DJ set or at the beach, maybe!

You can find this excellent new track on all streaming services - the Bandcamp is linked below.

Gliczide - Temposhaking EP
Those that have been keeping up in the modern French house scene will undoubtedly know Gliczide - the 17-year-old Russian producer who is making some of the finest house music the world has ever seen right now - and alongside that, he recently established his independent label Flowerside - which, thanks to a multitude of releases across the last few months, has become one of the hottest new labels in filter house - Frol's latest release, the brilliant Temposhaking EP, has solidified his status as a future legend, and Flowerside's reputation as a fantastic label.

This EP truly is stunning. Inspired by the late 90s / early 2000s productions of Fab G and Drexxel for acclaimed underground label Grand Prix, this release offers three warm, deep filter house cuts which ooze with DIY-esque quality - while sounding unmistakably fresh, funky and extremely dope. If this EP was released between 1999-2002, I can almost guarantee you that it'd likely have been rinsed by a host of A-list DJs from the time - especially Turboblaster, the quirky, yet ridiculously hypnotic club weapon that reminds me heavily of DJ Nekbath's work. To add, the other tracks on this release are just as good - You is, although simple, extremely uplifting, catchy and playful - whereas the title track is electrifying, glamorous and (quite fittingly) - it'd fit amazingly in a racing game!

To sum it up - this EP is awesome!

Go and grab it from Flowerside's Bandcamp now.

Toomy Disco - No Luv EP
Building onto the topic of late 90s club weaponry - I wanted to talk about the latest release from Canadian label Kookoo - a cracking four track EP from Romanian producer Toomy Disco. I only discovered this guy recently, and boy, I am seriously impressed. All four of the tracks on this EP are produced incredibly well - they're ridiculously groovy, bold, and they bridge the (sometimes intimidating) gap between the sounds present in Chicago and France in the late 90s - and the modern sounds coming out of the filter house scene today.

It's not every day that I stumble upon a record with such magnificent quality - every single track is built for destroying dancefloors with practiced ease - likely thanks to the driving, warm bass-lines, heavy doses of disco and funk littered throughout, and there's definitely a sense of elegance in this release. Although the whole EP is great - my favourites generally include That Locked Groove - a percussive, yet heavy banger which you could easily mistake for a track done by the legendary house gangster DJ Sneak - and the titular track, which to me, sounds like the product of a hypothetical collaboration between Daft Punk, David Morales and Armand Van Helden in the late 90s - thanks to the excellent sampling techniques, and how soulful it sounds!

You can grab it on Bandcamp now.

Kouek - In The Middle
March has been a surprisingly productive month for France-based producer Kouek - as he's released two absolutely incredible singles - the Alan Braxe-esque Maxi - which feels like a very welcome cross between French house and nu disco - and just yesterday, he released In The Middle.

This single, although relatively short, packs quite the punch (quite literally, thanks to how it is produced!) - it's incredibly rich, warm and slightly saturated, and thanks to the excellent sample selection and technique overall - this track feels extremely unique - it's oddly trippy at times, yet extremely memorable, and it feels like something that would have likely made waves during future funk's heyday - Artzie Music would have snapped this up quick! - Furthermore, this track feels like an extremely strange (yet welcome!) blend of the work of ID Chief, Android Apartment and Cape Coral - so if you're a fan of golden-age future funk - get on this, quick!

You can find this on his SoundCloud.

Starlight - Gates of Heaven
Released independently through SoundCloud just at the beginning of March - the brand new single from New-Jersey based producer Starlight is genuinely stunning. I only discovered it this morning while looking for some extra things to put onto today's post (why do I always discover all of the best things late?) - and to put it simply, I think it's one of the most inventive future funk tracks I've listened to this year. Gates of Heaven is a dazzling piece of work - it's incredibly bright, glitzy and crisp - reminding me heavily of Truman Truman's work. The sampling is done to damn near perfection - giving a host of sample based producers a run for their money - and in general, this new single radiates warmth and a whole lot of joy. How I've only discovered this guy now, we'll never know - but I'll be sure to look out for more, and you should too!

Go and stream it now!

ED. - Come Back
Now, this was a lovely surprise today!

Released independently just a couple of hours ago - the new single from Miami's favourite future funk producer Elektric Dreams (aka ED) is super, super sweet. While this post has mainly been about French house and future funk that's built for destroying clubs, action sequences or for blasting in your bedroom - Come Back takes a completely different approach. This new single is slightly more subdued - infusing future funk with chillout and deep house - it's oddly sensual at times (and I'm not just talking about the cover art here...) - and it manages to still be relentlessly groovy and catchy, while remaining incredibly tight, snappy and glamorous.

To sum it up - this is a true return to form for one of future funk's greatest. Go and grab it!

Come Back is available to stream everywhere now - but I'm going to link the Bandcamp so you can support the guy directly!

LEVEL NINE - Boogie Night (Happy Cola & Monobata's Tuff Version)
Released independently everywhere on March 6th - around a week ago, we saw two of future funk's biggest underground talents, Happy Cola and Monobata team up to deliver a killer edit of LEVEL NINE's Boogie Night. This rework is absolutely incredible - and it's probably one of the most wild, raucous disco house weapons to come out so far this year. It's almost too groovy, it sounds ridiculously clean, it's buttery smooth, and above all - it's so, so much fun. I have a very good feeling that it would go down insanely well at clubs - so DJs, I implore you - stick this in your crate and watch everybody lose their minds over how much it BUMPS.

You can listen to it on SoundCloud below!

There you have it, everyone!
