The last full week of October has just passed - and just like the rest of this month, some incredible things have happened in all of the various scenes covered here on ATD - there's been some amazing new releases (as always!) - a whole ton of awesome events announced, and the return of a certain legend to the stage... Let's get started! The second day of Because Beauborg was insane! Friday the 25th was an absolutely monumental day for the French touch scene for a huge number of reasons. First of all - the lineup featured a ton of incredible Ed Banger artists - including Breakbot and Irfane, Myd (who did a back-to-back set with Sofia Kourtesis) - Mayou Picchu and Tatyana Jane - however, the main event was at the end of the night - where four legendary DJs stepped up to the decks - Pedro Winter (known to many as Busy P - the manager of Ed Banger Records and a fabled electronic music legend) - Erol Alkan, the legendary DJ and produce...

October has been a packed month so far for all of the various scenes featured on the blog, and this last week has been no exception - there's been some killer stuff, and I can't wait to cover all of the awesome new releases in today's post! Without further ado, let's get started! Future0s - Soundeater To start this post off, I thought I'd shine a light on Future0s brand new single Soundeater, released through now established collective Nuixante on October 16th. This track is freaking awesome - it's incredibly punchy - it has some killer sample chops, it's insanely funky, it has thumping drum work and a whole lot of style - it reminds me very heavily of the work of German duo Supa Channel - who released a string of EPs for legendary underground label Chateau Funk in the early 2000s.   Released through legendary independent label Business Casual in June 2018, LemKuuja's fourth album CHEESECAKE+ - a direct sequel to his 2016 debut CHEESECAKE, is a spectacular record - which mixes French house, future funk and bloghouse era electro house perfectly - creating one of the most memorable (and at times insane) records in the late 2010s future funk boom. The whole album is produced excellently - it's extremely punchy, heavy, and demonstrates with ease LemKuuja's skills - there isn't a single skip on the album's eighteen tracks (well, technically twenty, if we're counting the bonus offerings!) - and every single track is unique, interesting and fun - take for example, Ouais Ouais - an upbeat, slightly jazzy, electro influenced banger with jittery, light vocal work from SlyLeaf - Brawl, featuring legendary Romanian producer Aests, is classic future funk at heart, with some fantastic sampling techniques and groove thrown in there for good measure - and...

We're now in the second week of October - and there's been a huge variety of drops from a variety of people in various scenes - some of them are strange, epic, and bound to be future classics, and I can't wait to cover them in today's post - so let's get into it. Luv4Loop - Often Ways To start this post off, I wanted to talk about the latest release from future garage stalwart Luv4Loop - the cracking single Often Ways, released through Opierm's Creux La Nuit on October 9th. A groovy, slightly jittery garage jam featuring tons of great micro-sampling techniques and thumping drum work - this track is absolutely perfect for DJs to drop in sets, where it'll likely best perform in packed clubs and venues. It's been a hot minute since the last promotion post on the blog (to be more specific, a month!) - and over the last two weeks, there's been some incredible releases, happenings and the return of several legends. ADRIANWAVE - DEREALIZATION Released independently on September 30th - Derealization is the brand new album from future funk legend Adrianwave and boy, it is absolutely fantastic. Stuffed to the brim with chilled out hip hop beats, golden age future funk that could fit perfectly on Artzie Music and dazzling, sample based disco jams, this - is a fantastic return to form for one of future funk's all time greats.
