Drops from the third week of October!

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque!

October has been a packed month so far for all of the various scenes featured on the blog, and this last week has been no exception - there's been some killer stuff, and I can't wait to cover all of the awesome new releases in today's post!

Without further ado, let's get started!

Future0s - Soundeater

To start this post off, I thought I'd shine a light on Future0s brand new single Soundeater, released through now established collective Nuixante on October 16th. This track is freaking awesome - it's incredibly punchy - it has some killer sample chops, it's insanely funky, it has thumping drum work and a whole lot of style - it reminds me very heavily of the work of German duo Supa Channel - who released a string of EPs for legendary underground label Chateau Funk in the early 2000s. In short, this track is a blinder, and has all of the necessary ingredients to destroy clubs for years to come - DJs, put this in your crate!

You can find it through Nuixante's Bandcamp now.

 Laberge - Don't Be Surprised

Despite this track's rather apt title, I was very surprised to see a brand new single from Canadian's very own disco king Laberge on October 17th - and to absolutely no-one's surprise, it's a freaking banger. This track has everything you need - it's extremely funky, effortlessly fun, playful, and upbeat, and on top of that, it's sure to make your summer days just that little more epic. I feel like this track could have been a great fit for late 90s underground labels such as Versatile or Fiat Lux (which is a massive plus!) - while also calling back on the amazing bloghouse days.

The sample techniques are awesome, and it is perfectly structured for DJs to drop in sets, so I'll say it once again - DJs, you have to stick this in your crate; you can thank Laberge in the SoundCloud comments later.

You can find this killer track on his SoundCloud now!

Sunday Night Club - Fool Of Love

Released through rising Texas based label Synchroma on October 17th - Fool Of Love is the debut single from a mysterious producer known only as Saturday Night Club - and boy, it is a beauty. Flipping Candi Staton's 1976 classic Young Hearts Run Free expertly, this new track is a buttery smooth, disco house workout which is extremely addicting and insanely funky. Keeping in theme with Synchroma's aesthetics and sound - this new single could easily be passed off as a record from Crydamoure's golden era - albeit, in a slightly more stylish fashion.

You can find it on Synchroma's Bandcamp - and be sure to look out for SNC's debut EP, which (hopefully) is out soon!

Party Night - Deja Vu

If you thought this week already couldn't get any better - well think again - as Guatemalan producer Party Night returned on October 18th with an absolutely killer single - Deja Vu. This track truly is modern future funk at it's finest, with some added French house inspiration thrown in for good measure - the drum work is extremely punchy and exciting, the bassline is absolutely killer (like, seriously, this thing is Intro levels of iconic!) and, as always, the sampling is next level, which is to be expected from the legendary producer. In short, it's future funk, with a whole lot of groove and filtery influences, built to become your soundtrack for next summer. What's not to love?

You can find this amazing new track on his SoundCloud.

Brayan Rojitas and Zai Kowen - Bloomheart

Released independently through all major streaming services on October 17th - Bloomheart is the brand new single from two of future funk's greatest talents - Brayan Rojitas and Zai Kowen. Bloomheart is a fun, fantastic track which flips Livin' On The Edge by Mason brilliantly - bringing the sounds of post disco and electro to future funk - which I think is absolutely awesome. Furthermore - to me, this track could have 100% gotten onto Artzie Music during its prime between 2014-2016 - and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up on Real Love at some point in the near future - it's dazzling, extremely energetic and very charming - so it gets a huge thumbs up from me!

Addison Rae - Fame Is A Gun (Goshfather Remix)

Also released independently on October 17th (Wow, Friday really was awesome!) - San-Francisco based DJ and producer Goshfather dropped an insane edit of Addison Rae's Fame Is a Gun. Inspired by Daft Punk legendary track Revolution 909 - this fresh new remix is extremely dark, bad ass and a thumping weapon built to destroy clubs and festivals this autumn and in the coming months. The production is absolutely top tier, and may potentially be one of my favourite things to come out of the disco house scene this year. It's effortlessly funky, heavy, and it absolutely slams when played out. To all of the fellow DJs - sticking this in your crate will do you WONDERS. Go and download it for free!

You can find it on his SoundCloud now.

Groupthink - I Like Your Sunglasses (Broken Embraces Edit)

With the bloghouse revival now running rampant, it feels rather fitting to include the incredible new edit from one of electro house's finest new talents, Broken Embraces. In true Broken Embraces tradition, this edit is extremely heavy and built to last - with some excellent, crazy synth work, and pounding, punchy drum work - turning the original track (a fun, upbeat indie sleaze track) into a dark, dingy edit which wouldn't sound too out of place on SebastiAn's iconic remix album A Fine Selection of Remixes. It's short, sweet, yet extremely impactful. Brace yourselves, this is a mad one.

You can find it on his SoundCloud.

Yuni Wa - Cutlass

Released through Divinity Sound on October 17th - the brand new single from Little Rock's finest future funk talent Yuni Wa is nothing short of awesome. Cutlass is a disco-led house banger, and despite it's minimalism - it's absolutely fantastic - and just like Bloomheart, it wouldn't sound out of place on Artzie Music in it's prime. It's groovy, effortlessly fun, delightful and extremely smooth. This is definitely one to check out!

You can find it on Spotify now.

Cheers! - Amour

Released through independent label ADBRK on October 17th - Amour is the fresh new single from UK-based producer and DJ Cheers! - Amour, at heart, is an extremely funky filter house jam complete with (metaphorical) barrels of fun. It wouldn't sound out of place on late 90s French labels such as Versatile or Roule - which is already a huge plus - but to add, it flips one of my all time favourite disco tracks - I Love You More by Angela and Rene to practical perfection. Bundle this with the extended club mix and the killer VHS pop influenced edit - and we have a winner on our hands!

You can find it on his Bandcamp.

Cafe Zurich - Silverlake Slip (La Voyage Remix)

To end out this (very long) post on the blog, I thought I'd shine a light on the stunning new remix from everybody's favourite trio La Voyage - which consists of Opierm, Luv4Loop and Guv'nor Funk. Today, they dropped an incredible edit of Cafe Zurich's Silverlake Slip. This remix is nothing short of fantastic - it's insanely choppy, frenetic (in the best way possible) - incredibly energetic, exciting and fun, and to top it off, it has some fantastic instrumentation and production techniques (the chords are incredible, and the bassline is so, so funky!) - taking the original - a blog-era nu disco jam - and turning it all the way up to eleven. An absolute masterpiece, and by far the greatest thing they've ever done.

You can find this fantastic piece of work on their SoundCloud.

There you have it, everyone!

I hope you've enjoyed reading today's post - be sure to support all of the fellow artists featured in today's post, and be sure to follow the blog!
