Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque!
It's been a hot minute since the last promotion post on the blog - and the last two weeks have been absolutely insane for all of the scenes covered here on ATD - so I cannot wait to talk about some of the freshest new releases from a bunch of the best talents.
Buckle your seatbelts - this is gonna be a long one!
Broken Embraces - Unrest
Released just yesterday - Unrest is the brand new single from Uruguayan electro house producer / blog-era curator Broken Embraces - which doubles down as the first single from his upcoming debut album. As always, this single is absolutely brilliant - it's a menacing, harsh and thrilling ride into the mind of one of the finest producers in the game, with stunning production and sound design to boot. It's heavy, raw, full of sharp synths, pounding drums and some very nice string action throughout. It's dirty, crazy and evil. What's not to love?
You can find Unrest on SoundCloud and Bandcamp currently. It is planned to be on streaming services soon.
GeoFunk - Up In The Sky
Released independently through SoundCloud on November 18th - Up In The Sky is the brand new album from Dutch producer GeoFunk - who initially cut his teeth on the Crydamoure revival circuit. This release features nine new club weapons - all of which encapsulate the late 90s filter house sound damn near perfectly.
There's tons of great sample technique in here, and a bunch of super catchy, fun jams - my favourite examples of this include the Tatsuro Yamashita led, future classic Ikebukuro - which also reminds me of the mid-2010s future funk scene - the effortlessly funky (and slightly rowdy) Movin' - which feels like a long lost track that could have fit perfectly into the Roule catalogue - the ridiculously upbeat Yeah - built off of a certain Cheryl Lynn classic, and the buttery smooth outing that is Close 2 U - which feels like a homage to Crydamoure, Cape Coral and Adrianwave all at once.
In short - Up In The Sky is a fantastic piece of work, and it seriously shows that you can make great music anywhere, and with anything (can you believe that this album was done in BandLab, of all things?) - go and give it a spin, and be sure to check out the rest of the album - which is just as great, as funky, and as French - as it can get.
Daft Punk - Human After All (Remixes)
Now, some of you may be a little bit confused as to why the remix album for Human After All - released initially in Japan in March 2006 - has somehow ended up on this post for all of the recent drops from the last two weeks. The reason is very simple - on the launch night of The Daft Punk Experience game mode on Fortnite - Busy P and Frankie Ward did a Twitch stream, where later in the evening - it was announced that the Human After All remixes would be coming to vinyl on November 28th, which is today!
So now, it is official - for the very first time, you can officially grab the remix album for Human After All on limited edition 2xLP - and I am incredibly excited about it! (I put my pre-order in the day after it was announced!) - my favourite remixes from this album include the iconic SebastiAn remix of Human After All - which was later released on his album a Fine Selection of Remixes - the quirky remix of Technologic by Le Knight Club - and the killer Soulwax edit of Robot Rock, which is badass and super heavy.
You can find it at all good record stores and online retailers now - below is the Amazon link!
Wedro Pintre - Bonjor Welcom To The Crydamdof
I know what you might be thinking, readers - what's up with the design on this release - and who is Wedro Pintre? - I'll tell you - Wedro Pintre is the brand new, Crydamoure-influenced project by Liverpool based music producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Luv4Loop - all of the design is satire, and don't worry - he's not trying to impersonate Busy P!
Rather, this is a fun side project which aims to release music in the style of the funky, filtery bangers that you'd hear on the legendary Parisian label, and for a first single - BWTTC does this perfectly. It's an extremely funky, summery and punchy French house banger with some great sample chopping, groovy drum work and most of all - it's something that would fit perfectly into an early Together set.
You can find this excellent new single on Wedro Pintre's Bandcamp page.
Versiple - Choice
Released independently through SoundCloud on November 23rd - Choice is the brilliant new single from New York based producer Versiple. Choice is absolutely brilliant - although labelled as future funk - Versiple borrows a ton of influence from French house for this joint - this single is extremely energetic, jittery and hyperactive, with some incredible sampling techniques demonstrated. Choice is built off of disco classics from First Circle and Clarity, packed with compression and tight drum work and it sounds incredibly warm (thanks to the incredible bassline it features!) - making it an instant future funk classic for its fantastic production, great vibes and above all - it's genuinely nuts. If you want something different to listen to - give this a spin!

Daniel Fowler - Tonight
By this point, regular readers of the blog are expected to know Daniel Fowler - the UK-born, Hong Kong based producer and DJ who has been making waves in the modern future funk scene for ages. His new single Tonight - released on all good streaming services on November 22nd - is a cracking excursion into punchy, upbeat future funk with an electro house twist - there's tons of gritty synthesis with a bunch of low end - a whole lot of sample finesse (this new single flips A Night To Remember by Chalamar expertly!) and in general - this is a freaking epic track.

DJ Supernick - Virtuosity
Initially released early as a single in late October - on November 22nd, Texas-based producer and DJ - DJ Supernick released his brand new single Virtuosity officially through SoundCloud in the lead up to the release of his debut album Groovin' Games - which is set to release on December 5th. Virtuosity is a fantastic track - at heart, Virtuosity is a deep house track with some true disco flavours, great instrumentation and chilled out vibes - making it perfect to play mid-set in clubs, in the chillout room or at friendly gatherings. It also reminds me super heavily of nu-disco - which is a massive plus!
You can find it here!
Takanashi Sachiko - Autonomy
On November 23rd, we saw the return of one of future funk's greatest talents - everyone's favourite Ohio based producer Takanashi Sachiko - who came in hot with his brand new single Autonomy, which is one of my favourite future funk tracks of the year. Built off of Revenge by Dynasty (which was also used by Tendencies and SUPERSEX420) - Autonomy is what you'd get if Evil Stereo made future funk. This new single, despite being punchy, choppy and heavily reminiscent of the 2015 future funk scene - is very bittersweet, melancholic and very beautiful, making it perfect for playing on those long summer nights that we'll be seeing soon. There's also a very fun bit at the end where it becomes more energetic and hyper - which is super sweet, too!
In short - this is a huge banger, and to me - a massive standout in this year's future funk release pool!

Cupzide - Tell Me
As you can likely tell - the last two weeks for the future funk scene have been absolutely incredible - and this was a lovely surprise to find in my recommended songs on SoundCloud last week. Tell Me, the brand new single by underground producer Cupzide is absolutely amazing - it's an extremely upbeat, groovy club weapon that would serve well at parties of any kind with its excellent sample usage, tight production and glitzy, summery vibes. Is this another classic to the already growing barrel of future funk tunes featured on this post? Absolutely!

As always - support all of the artists featured on today's post - and as always, keep enjoying your stay at the discotheque.

I am super happy to be honored here! Can’t believe how far I have come. December 5th will most definitely be the day of enjoyment!!! In fact, I spent like 3 days making Virtuosity and I was experimenting MIDI instruments like those arpeggios, pads, and bass! I went full-on “Face To Face mode” because I got quickly bored so why not make a banger? This is the final result!
