All of the amazing stuff released in May: Part Two!

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque!

As I mentioned on Saturday - May was a frankly epic month in terms of releases in French house, future funk, blog-era electro and disco - and it was an incredibly busy couple of weeks - hence why I had to split this post into two parts (as writing about twenty releases in one go would likely kill me, ha!) - either way, today I bring you part two of all of the amazing stuff released last month - so buckle your seat belts - this is going to be a great one!

Oran Jusu - Ain't Got Time
If you've been reading the blog a ton lately - or just keeping up with the wider future funk scene in general, then you damn well know that Oran Jusu - the Edinburgh-based producer is making some of the most amazing future funk and nu disco jams right now. With his debut album releasing next Friday - Ain't Got Time is the final single from what is looking to be a stunning record. As for the track itself - it's a truly fantastic nu disco outing with a sprinkling of future funk influence which, similar to his last single Let You Down - feels like a track that could have come straight from Skylar Spence's debut album Prom King - it's incredibly joyous, it's effortlessly glamorous, and above all, it's produced extremely well - so I wouldn't be surprised if Discoholic started spinning this in his DJ sets - or any other nu disco legend for that matter.

You can grab it now through all major streaming platforms - but the Bandcamp is linked below!

Dj Streaks - Feel Your Rain (feat. Tim)
Like I said in part one of this post - I absolutely love bringing new people onto the blog - and I was pleasantly surprised upon seeing this in my SoundCloud feed around a week ago. The first track in a brand new series by Liverpool based legend Dj Streaks (and before you ask, yes, that is how it is spelt!) - who's just released a killer EP for Fatboy Slim's Southern Fried Records - is absolutely fantastic filter house track that's bound to define your summer.

It reminds me a ton of Daft Punk's remix of Disco Cubizm - and it's extremely chilled, it's very emotional in a way, it has a whole bunch of analogue sounding warmth which I absolutely love - and rather interestingly, it's a flip of a Kendrick Lamar track, which definitely piqued my interest on first listen!

To sum it up - this is a freaking awesome little tune - and another excellent addition to the discography of one of my all time favourite house producers.

Be sure to check it out on SoundCloud below - alongside his new EP for Southern Friend and his earlier stuff for HOUZ and Barbecue.

CyanBlue - Love Is Blind
Released independently through his SoundCloud on May 16th - the brand new single from Canadian producer and future funk legend CyanBlue - which was also released on his birthday (late birthday wishes from me, Cyan!) - is, as per usual - absolutely stunning.

It's a super positive, club ready jam that oozes with influences of the early 2010s disco house scene (in my opinion, this could have totally gone on 4Disco back in 2012!) - the sampling techniques are great, the glittery synths towards the end are particularly killer - the production is super tight, there's a whole bunch of low end provided by an Alavi-style bassline (which is always a plus!) - and it's really thumpy (is that even a word? It is now!) - therefore making it a super awesome track for DJs to spin, or for any particular occasion. It's also recently racked up praise from those such as Lorean and FIBRE too - and they can say no wrong!

Go and stream Love is Blind now!

Tree Palm - Summer Girlfriend
I've only recently discovered Tree Palm - the Toronto-based future funk producer - and I'm quite surprised that I didn't discover him earlier. My good friend Merrit introduced me via Discord - and ever since, I've been patiently waiting for new music - which came in the form of Summer Girlfriend on May 15th. While the first couple of tracks featured today have had a very heavy focus on the French. filtery house sound - this new single calls back upon the "golden-age" of future funk from 2014-2017 - it's heavily inspired by Japanese city pop (which is always a huge plus!) - the production is extremely, bright, full of clarity and it's an extremely playful track because of this, and above all, for those that love their classic future funk that sounds like it's come straight from Artzie or 94:20 - this is guaranteed to scratch that itch. Classic future funk is something we need more of in 2026, so I'm rather pleased to champion this!

You can find Summer Girlfriend on most major streaming platforms. The Bandcamp is linked below!

Foals - Electric Bloom (Broken Embraces Remix)
If you've been reading the blog often - then by now, this man needs no introduction. If you're new - first of all, hey - second of all, what you're about to listen to is a killer remix from one of the bloghouse revival's most important people. Having already flipped the likes of Uffie, Nadia Oh, Feed Me and Tiga amongst several others - Broken Embraces' mental rework of Foals' alt-rock hit Electric Bloom replaces the soft, dreamy undertones and stripped back instrumentation of the original for a two minute workout that wouldn't sound too out of place on a compilation for Boyz Noize, or on Jaymo and Andy George's Radio 1 show.

As I always say when it comes to Broken Embraces - the production on this single is absolutely nuts - it's extremely fast paced, heavy and really energetic, with those signature buzzy synths and slamming, heavily compressed drums listeners are familiar with at the forefront of this electro house monster. Just to add - although it's relatively short - I keep pressing replay over and over again - so that's always a massive positive - and I know for a fact that this'll be on loop for the rest of your Sunday. Go and give it a spin!

You can find this remix on SoundCloud now.

Daft Punk - Revolution 909 (Rosall Remix)
Building onto the topic of damn fine (and pretty damn crazy) remixes - I was browsing through SoundCloud the other day looking for things to blog about in this exact post, and stumbled upon this absolutely incredible edit of one of Daft Punk's major classics by Brazilian producer Rosall, which was released independently on May 22nd.

Skirting the lines between a standard French house remix, a mashup track and an electro, blog-era influenced future classic - this remix takes on all three objectives and pulls it off brilliantly - first of all, by mixing One More Time, Aerodynamic and the original track together, then having a major switch up in the second half by stripping back the main sample and adding a whole bunch of distorted synthesis that reminds me heavily of the work of D.I.M. in his late 2000s prime - and finally, the main parts flipping Revolution 909 to sound even more club-ready, punchy and fun than it is. It's a super surprising, yet extremely exciting listen - and for fans of the legendary Parisian duo, I urge you to give this a listen, it's great!

It's available on Bandcamp and SoundCloud currently as a free download.

Brayan Rojitas - Still In Love
Released through his red hot label Neon Soda on May 22nd - the brand new single from Colombia's very own Brayan Rojitas is absolutely fantastic - which isn't really a surprise, especially if you've been following him for a while. It's an extremely infectious, joyous and slightly romantic disco-led weapon that's extremely funky, surprisingly deep (thanks to the drums being so god damn boomy!) - and to add, it reminds me somewhat of the work of New York based producer and DJ Mr. Hoosteen, alongside the stuff that was coming out on Riviera in its late 90s and early 2000s heyday - so if you're a fan of the late 90s sound with a slightly modern and clean twist - be sure to pick this up or give it a spin at a club to watch the crowd move!

You can find it on a whole bunch of streaming platforms - the YouTube video is linked below!

Hot Singles - Feeling of Love (Future0s' Remix)
The last time I talked about Future0s' work was back in mid-October when he released his epic single Soundeater with legendary underground collective Nuixante - and since then, he's cooked up a whole bunch of new stuff - including a killer remix for California based producer Hot Singles - which, I'd like to just say, is freaking awesome. Building onto the topic of late 90s sounding French house - this is an absolutely prime cut that could have come straight from Blackjack (hey look, another mention of Fab G's labels!) in its early 2000s prime - or ended up being on legendary German label Chateau Funk - it's impressively groovy, it's got a whole ton of low fidelity charm which only adds to the aesthetic - and due to how heavy, yet brilliantly upbeat it is - I could totally imagine DJ Sneak and Sedat spinning this, or even Paul Johnson back in the late 90s.

In short - go and give this a crank - it's totally worth it!

There you have it, everyone!

I hope you've enjoyed reading today's post - be sure to support all of the artists featured today - and as always, keep enjoying your stay at the discotheque.
