Interview: ZeroZed

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque. For today's interview, we have American producer ZeroZed joining the hot seat at ATD - he's known for producing an eclectic mix of garage, French house and if it's your thing - drum and bass, too. He's also a member of both Deladapt Records and Creux La Nuit, so he's recognizable in various places! Without further ado, I'll let him do the talking. For those who don’t know you – who are you, and what music do you make? I'm ZeroZed - I mainly make UKG & jungle music, but I also do french house. What are some of your inspirations musically? I'd say that Todd Edwards inspired me (no pun intended) but I am also inspired by the whole Todd Edwards fan crew. I'm not really inspired by anybody for my jungle music! You recently released your latest EP, Needing on Deladapt Records / CLN – can you tell us some of the production secrets behind it? For the first track (I Need You) I just stole drums from a WIP ...

Awesome new things that dropped this week!

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque. For today's post, I thought I'd shine a light on some of the new stuff that dropped this week - it's been extremely busy this week for future funk and French house, and some of the biggest quality releases have dropped, along with some incredibly exciting announcements and news. Without further ado, let's get into it. Mr Hoosteen - EDM (2K25 Remaster) Now remastered and available to stream everywhere, future disco king Mr Hoosteen's debut single E.D.M (released as part of his debut EP, 2014) was re-released on July 18th through his now iconic label, OMEAC Records. The track itself is a pure filter house classic, which in my humble opinion, matches the quality of the releases on Crydamoure. Along with that, the cover art is absolutely killer, highlighting not only his capabilities as a producer, but also his talent as a graphic designer and visual artist.  All I have to say is, go and grab the single, stream it or even...

Prime summer drops and fun new things!

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque. Over the last couple of weeks, there's been loads of amazing new releases, and I thought I'd finally get back to doing promotion posts after last week's host of incredible interviews - I can't thank all of the interviewees enough for their co-operation and support - it means the world. I also just quickly want to thank everyone for the support over the last week, the growth for the blog has been insane and I am so happy that people are enjoying a random teenager's ramblings on scenes that really deserve more love - you're all awesome. Anyway, let's get to the awesome new things that have come out! Tater Andersson - Superstars To start off this post, here's something a little bit different. On June 23rd, Norwegian electroclash / blog house musician and producer Tater Andersson released Superstars - a fun, yet dark and exciting punk electro track with some kick ass production, some sweet vocals from the man h...

Interview: Louis La Roche

Hello everyone - welcome back at the discotheque. Today's post is extremely special - as we get to hear from UK based nu disco, pop and French house producer Louis La Roche - a veteran in the French house scene of the late 2000s and an extremely accomplished musician in his own right - with his work amassing tens of millions of streams and a heavy amount of incredible remixes under his belt. It is an honor to get him onto the blog! Without further ado, I'll let him do the talking! For those that don’t know you – who are you, and what music do you make? I’m Brett Francis Ewels, I’m a DJ/Producer from the UK. I started my career making French Touch inspired music, which has slowly evolved into Nu Disco and Pop over the years. It’s just knowing where to pull from. If it’s a Funk song, it’s t...

Before that, I had be...

Interview: Broken Embraces

Hey everyone - welcome back at the discotheque. Today we have something a little different - and an awesome person joining us once again in the hot seat here at ATD. Remember the post I made in the middle of June talking about the blog house revival (and the not so subtle references I kept making to it across the month?) - well. things have very neatly lined up. Today, Opierm is joining us again, this time as Broken Embraces - his new alias creating some of the most brutally brilliant blog house music which is set to destroy the universe the same way the Ed Banger crew did in the late 2000s. Let's get straight to the interview! For those that don’t know you – who are you, and what music do you make? Hi, I'm broken embraces - I make bloghouse / electroclash / whatever you motherf***ers call it with the intention of bringing back the MySpace era's sound or just a mixture of my sound with it. What artists inspired you to make blog house music – and what are you listening t...

Hey everyone! Today, we have a very awesome person joining the hot seat here at ATD - American producer and DJ Supernick - who has been making rounds this year after releasing some great music and being a fantastic archivist of the blog house scene. With this in mind, it was sooner or later that we got him in for an interview! Anyway, that's enough of me - I'll let Supernick do the talking! For those that don't know you - who are you, and what kind of music do you make? I am a Disco house music producer from the Houston, Texas Metro. I am 20 years old. I used to figure skate and do cheerleading and tumbling. What artists got you into French house music – and how long have you been listening to the genre? Le Knight Club, The Disko Starz, and Poka.
